I'm Mukarram Ali, a Flutter developer based in Milan. I've shipped 6 production apps for clients in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Pakistan, from a B2B construction marketplace to an offline IoT system for farms. I'm completing an MS in Fintech at Politecnico di Milano and I'm available full-time from December 2026. Languages: English (B2, professional working), Italian (A1, studying).
Most of that work replaces a manual process: phone calls, WhatsApp chains, and paper checklists that a growing business has outgrown. I specialize in field-ready software: apps that stay usable with a weak signal, a cracked screen, and a user who doesn't have time to learn a complicated interface. That's a different set of decisions than a typical consumer app: offline-first data handling, conservative UI patterns, and architecture that assumes the network will fail rather than hoping it won't.
I work end to end: product discovery, UX/UI design, development for web, iOS, Android, backend integration, and deployment. For most projects I'm the only developer, which means fewer handoffs and a single person accountable for the whole build.
I'm based in Milan and open to remote work with clients anywhere.
